HIGH POINT, NC - (April 20, 2024) TriStar from Knoxville, TN and Triangle Rowing from Raleigh, NC topped the medal tables for youth events at the 2024 Bethany Medical North Carolina Rowing Championships, presented by the Lenny Peters Foundation.

In collegiate boat racing, the University of South Carolina won both the men's and women's eights titles. Both races saw close finishes against James Madison U and UNC Wilmington respectively for the gold.

TriStar won the State Championships Bowl awarded to the youth program with the most gold medal wins at the regatta while Triangle earned victories in the prestigious men's and women's eights finals, the women's quad sculls and the men's and women's youth singles events.

It was a remarkable feat by the two clubs considering the historically competitive nature of this year's championships regatta, which saw 30% year over year growth in the number of boat entries.

446 boats of rowers raced for gold medals in 90 separate grand final events on Saturday on Oak Hollow Lake with thousands of spectators cheering on from the grassy banks of Festival Park. The regatta finale was the youth mixed eights 300 meter DASH race. 12 boats with 108 rower on board sprinted the short course with TriStar earning the gold medal.

The most intense competition of the regatta was seen in the 'Cup Races' named for individuals who have made incredible contributions to the sport of rowing in the region.
